Commander Lodge is located near the gateway of Phong Nha–Ke Bang National Park, a 45-minute drive from Dong Hoi City. As local tourism continues to grow, transportation to Phong Nha has significantly improved, offering both residents and tourists more options than ever before.

However, as the area is still developing to keep up with tourism trends, transportation conditions are continuously updated but not yet fully convenient. You may face difficulty if travel arrangements are not made in advance. We recommend having a clear travel plan and booking plane, train, or bus tickets before your trip. While we cannot book transportation tickets on your behalf, we are happy to assist you in finding suitable options for flights, trains, buses, or private vehicles.

There are flights connecting Dong Hoi with Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. You need a transfer from Dong Hoi to Commander Lodge. The nearest airport to Commander Lodge – Phong Nha is Dong Hoi Airport. If you book a flight to Dong Hoi, you will still need to arrange a private shuttle service from the airport to Commander Lodge.

Trains run through most coastal provinces in Vietnam, offering a fantastic travel experience. For the most comfortable journey, we recommend booking a soft sleeper (4 berths per cabin) or a hard sleeper (6 berths per cabin) for an overnight train. If you arrive in Dong Hoi by train, you will also need to arrange a private transfer to Commander Lodge.

Buses are becoming increasingly popular and are widely used by various travelers. Many bus services now transport passengers directly to Phong Nha instead of stopping only in Dong Hoi. If you take a bus from Hanoi, you will arrive in Phong Nha at around 4:00 AM, allowing you enough time for breakfast before starting your tour. Most buses departing from Phong Nha leave at 9:00 PM, giving you time to rest after your tour and have dinner before departure. Bus routes are available from Phong Nha to Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Hue, Da Nang, and Hoi An. From Phong Nha, we can provide a transfer service (with applicable fees) to take you to Commander Lodge.
